EaSTeR HuNT

Karlee and Cannon went to an early Easter egg hunt at Johnston High School. We expected it to be warmer and sunny like the last couple of days had been, but to our surprise, it was freezing cold. We just put a light coat on Karlee and Cannon, neither had mittens or hats. Karlee was so cold that by the time the horn went off she was too cold and didn't want to pick up the eggs. After a little coaching she was grabbing one egg in each hand and throwing them in the basket. It was really fun watching her first egg hunt. She is way more aggressive than Cannon.

Bet Ya DiDN't Know.......

I saw this idea on one of my other friends blog.

-Steve and I grew up in Shelley, Idaho. We lived about 1.5 miles from each other. We were in the same 1st grade class. We never dated in High school or even hung out. We went on our first date in February of 2001 (I paid) and on July 4th he asked me to marry him. We were married on August 17, 2001. Long engagement!

-I am addicted to soda pop. I hate water! I feel like I am drinking swimming pool water here in Iowa. Not that I'm using that as an excuse, because I didn't in Idaho either. The first thing I do in the morning is get a pop. I don't care if it is warm or cold. I'll drink either. I prefer caffiene in the morning, but I taper off in the afternoon to caffiene free. I only drink diet soda. Diet Pepsi, Diet Coke, Diet Dr.Pepper Cherry Chocolate (yes, this is a new kind). I really don't care what kind of diet pop. I have about 12 empty cans in my garbage can in my car. If I am leaving I will take my drink with me and I'll buy a new one before the old one is gone. My Bad!

-When I sit on the toilet, I only let my toes touch the floor. It just feels weird to have flat feet while I am going to the bathroom. I'm not sure how long I have been doing this before I was married, but my husband pointed it out. Its one of those habits you have and are not sure why.

-I love to run. I don't care if I have to run on a treadmill or outside. BUT, I can't stand to run if I am not chewing gum. My mouth gets all dry and I will end up stopping because I don't like that feeling. But if I have gum in my mouth, I can run for hours. I'm a gum chewer. I go through gum like crazy. I buy gum by the bulk. Mostly, minty flavors, not a big fan of bubble gum flavor.

-Something else you may not know, Steve's parents are the same age as my oldest brother. His mom and my brother graduated the same year. They are both 48 years old. Steve's grandparents are the same age as my parents both 70. Our families are so different. We love them both. Mostly because they both put up with us. Thanks!

-One more thing, Steve and I love and I mean love to snowmobile. When we go to Idaho in the winter, we mostly snowmobile. And I don't mean we ride on a groomed trail either. Steve is awesome. He makes it look so easy. I usually end up going with the boys and if we go with someone new they always ask if I can ride there. My father-in-law usually says "Oh ya, she can ride." Unless I am listening, then he usually says we need to stay on the groomed trails. But one thing is for sure, I don't get stuck as much as Nick and Dave. (steve's brothers)

So if you dare, leave me comments about you and things I may not know about you. I can't wait to read.

Kash's BiRThDaY PaRTY

This week has been very busy. Cannon was invited to a birthday party for Kash Janke. For the birthday party they invited the kids to a barn out in Grimes. The kids all took turns riding horses and then we played games in the tackle room of the barn. It brought back a lot of memories of my childhood. I remembered the smell of the barn and the horses. It was awesome. Karlee was terrified of the horses at first, but soon realized that if the other kids touched the horse, she could too. Cannon was really excited to ride the horses and he kept telling the kids about the times he rode horses with Grandpa Beck and Grandpa Doug. He jumped right up on the horse and away he went. I was able to get a few video's of Cannon riding like a cowboy.

(Cannon didn't want the lady to lead the horse)

(Left to Right)
(Titus, Jennifer, Javien, Joe and B-day Boy Kash)

Cowboy Cannon "YEEE HAAA!"

"Ride'm Cowboy"

SuPeR KiDs "To THe ReSCue!!!"

My kids love pretending they are super heros! They asked me to tie Karlee's liney's around there necks. They were flying room to room, saving lives.

NoThiNg IS SaFe.......

Just when I thought we would be safe for a while, Karlee has just learned how to open doors. That means she will now have access to the bathroom, bedroom and the pantry. I was hoping I would have a couple of months before she figured it out, but yesterday she was determined to get some "snacks". So after I shut the pantry door, she ran over there and pounded on the door and then decided she would open it herself. Then after she opened it, she gave us this look " I want fruit snacks and I want it now, even if I have to get it myself." She is so much more independent than Cannon. Even now in church she will run up to the pulpit without a second thought, I can't bribe Cannon to go three seats in front of me. It is so funny how kids from the same family have such different personalities.
Yesterday I was watching Megan's kids. We were talking about school, moving etc. etc and our dear Karlee comes running out of my room and hands Megan a couple of condoms. Megan and I tried not to burst out laughing, but we couldn't help ourselves. Oh Karlee, please stay out of mommy's drawers.

PReTTy PriNCeSS

We think she is so cute to disguise her nastiness!

We have Plenty of Help!

I always thought I needed more help from my kids and husband until Karlee came around. Now I realized I have been blessed with too much help. Not so much in a productive way! I've been asked before what I do all day, well I basically just follow HER around. Thank goodness Cannon is such a good brother. Both of us working together can tame the wild beast!

Turn your volume UP... This is HILARIOUS!!!

Karlee is a sassy little monkey. Everytime I ask her to do something she looks and me and yells these made-up words. Well, lately the word she made-up sounds a lot like a four-letter word( *%@$ ) . Cannon thinks it is hilarious so he encourages her in her sassiness! Here is the latest in her made-up vocabulary.

****YOU WILL HAVE TO PAUSE MY MUSIC AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE****

***Disclaimer***

(She didn't hear this from her mom or dad. We are blaming Papa Steve since he will probably never read this!)

WhiLe MoMmy'S AwAy.............

Cannon and Karlee decided to help out in the kitchen. They unloaded the pantry closet while I hung clothes upstairs. I came down to a huge mess on my kitchen floor (my kids were part of the mess). They built towers with all of the cans of green beans and soup. They must have played so hard they decided to take a rest with some pillows from the couch.
