Happy BiRtHDaY KaRLeE

Karlee celebrated her 2nd birthday last week and I am now just getting her post done. I am so happy to have her in my life. She is so much fun, excitement, adventure and mess. Just this morning she locked herself in the bathroom by pulling out the drawer in front of the door so no one could get in. She proceeded to get Cannon's toothbrush and roll it around in the toilet water so she could brush her teeth, GROSS, I know. After a bit of teasing she opened the door and let us in. That's when we noticed she had also pulled out all of her little rubber band and scattered them around the bathroom.
After I got that cleaned up I ran downstairs to answer the door and she followed, then ran upstairs to help Cannon, she got up to the table and helped herself to some soup and cake, our neighbor had just brought over. But no, it was not enough, she decided she needed to mix the Chicken Gumbo Soup with the German Chocolate Cake. Take my advice, not a good combo! After the day is over, I still can't get enough of her mischievous smile and tight squeezes around the neck. We STILL love her........

HappY Anniversary!

Steve and I have been married for 7 wonderful years. I am so happy I met him and we made the choice to get married. I can't imagine my life without him and all of the fun and happiness he brings in my life. One day before we left Idaho my sweet husband told me we were going to go out on a date. We we got the kids ready and took them to Dave and Jamie's house. We started heading down the road but not to Idaho Falls and I got a little confused. I said "I guess we are not going to Idaho Falls!" He just smiled and told me just to enjoy the ride and that he wasn't going to tell me what we were doing. He ended up taking me to this beautiful hotel. It had all of these different theme rooms. It was so awesome. I was totally surprised because he had packed a suitcase with everything I could possibly need. I was surprised he even remembered my running shoes and a ponytail. We got to stay in the Romeo and Juliet Room. It had this huge heart shaped spa. It took us forever to find the restroom because it was hidden away amongst all of the trees in the garden, but when we found it they had made the toilet into a king's throne. It was so cool, they even put it on a pedestal. They bed was located upstairs on a balcony overlooking the rest of the room. He also took me out to dinner and then shopping. I was so surprised and impressed with his sneakiness. He told me that he wanted to give me an early anniversary present because he knew that it would be harder to get away in Michigan. We had a great time and didn't want to leave, just to pack up and leave for Iowa. It was the best date I have ever been on. I love how Steve spoils me. What a great guy!

Catch-Up

This last month has flown by and I can't seem to get all of my blog posts done, so I decide to make a slide show of the last couple of weeks to show all that we have been up too. I still have more to catch-up on but here is what we have been up to since we got to Michigan.

Matt and Steve did a great job installing all of the appliances, blinds and garage doors. I am so thankful we have them out here because I would hate to have to help Steve figure out all of the tricks to installing everything.

PLaYin IN the DIRT

Cannon was invited to go hang out with his cousin and ride motorbikes. He was so excited he could hardly stand it. At first he was a little nervous about riding the bike by himself, but after Steve took the safety off of the throttle, Cannon was having a blast. He was going pretty fast for a kid who has never rode a motorbike by himself. He can't stop talking about it. I think this was the highlight of Cannon's trip back to Idaho. To top it off, he was able to get all dressed up with racing gear. He walked around like he was the coolest kid in town.

50 yrs in the making

(MOM,DAD & Melanie)

It is amazing to think that my parents have been married for 50 years. For there celebration all of the family went to Island Park to stay in a cabin and just enjoy everyone's company. We all had so much fun together and this was the first time that everyone has been together since my wedding, which was about 7 years ago. We spent time boating, 4-wheeling, motorbikin, running and staying up late chit-chatting. The weekend flew by. I love my family so much and this summer has reminded me how much I love them and it doesn' t matter how long we are apart or how far away we are, we are still a family and nothing will ever change that. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family and for the family I married into. We get along better than I could have imagined. I love each of them so much and I couldn't imagine not having them apart of my life. I am so blessed. I even love my brother-in-laws (sometimes). J/K!

10 year High School Reunion

This summer Steve and I had our 10 year High School Reunion. We had lunch at the Shelley Park and caught up on a lot that has happened with everyone. We saw tons of people who we haven't seen since high school and others that we saw regularly. These girls been through it all. We have been friends for so long that everytime we get together it is just like we were never apart. These girls made high school worth while and I miss and love everyone of them.
Steve was there too, he took the picture. It was really funny because a lot of people from school had no idea that we got married since we never hung out or dated in high school. I'm so glad I married him and I'll just pretend he was my high school sweetheart.

sUMmeRTiMe, SuMmeRTImE!

These girls had so much fun in the pool, that I can't decide if they used more water or sunscreen and towels. Karlee's cousin Levi taught the girls how to pour water on there heads and they just thought this was the funniest thing ever. They laughed until their belly's hurt. Or cried until we brought two of the same toy everywhere we went together. Jaime and I got to spend a lot of time together this summer, which was awesome. I can't wait until next time.

Well, here it is, the talked about waterslide. This waterslide has been the highlight of many summers. This waterslide has been around for atleast 15 years. Each spring we have to de-winterize it and fix it up. My dad is constantly making upgrades. The latest was the in-ground pool, with a backsplash for people like Steve and his brothers who go down it and try seeing how fast they can go and how much water they can splash out.
We spent a lot of time outside while in Idaho. I guess it doesn't matter how many times I bathe her, she still finds dirt. She has so much fun exploring and investigating.
